women-meditatingComplementary Mental Health Support.

Includes taking an integrative approach with Holistic Counselling and Naturopathic support.  This includes but is not limited to Anxiety, Depression (including subtypes), Mental Illness, post trauma, learning and behaviour issues, ADD / ADHD, Aspergers, Autism and stress management.  I work with your existing practitioners to offer integrative support with your doctor, psychologist, counsellor, psychiatrist etc. The treatment and therapies used are safe in conjunction with any existing medication.  I use a combination of resources including holistic counselling, NLP and Life coaching techniques alongside nutritional support, flower essences, herbal medicine and lifestyle advice.  I have a lot of experience working with the Pfieffer Protocol and the trainings of Dr. William Walsh from the Walsh Institute in the USA.  Usually involved with this support is urine, blood and hair mineral testing to determine methylation status (over or under methylation), pyrroluria, copper toxicity and nutrient deficiencies. For more information please visit http://www.walshinstitute.org

Who isn’t stressed in today’s busy world? While everyone experiences some level of stress in their day-to-day life, sometimes life situations find you feeling out of control and feeling like you aren’t coping or over-reacting to the stress that you are under.  If this is the case then it is time to take responsibility and address your situation sooner rather than later, before it really affects your life, relationships as well as mental and physical health.

Stress is a very real physiological event that produces stress chemicals, such as cortisol and adrenaline, which if secreted in high amounts over a long period can have a negative affect on your health. Common conditions and diseases such as cancer, heart disease, osteoporosis, diabetes, obesity and even infertility have all been linked to chronic stress – so now is the time to be proactive and address it!

While it’s not realistic for everyone to change their life circumstances, I can help to change the way your body responds to stress and thereby help you cope better mentally & physically through support. I assess your level of stress and the effect that it is having on your body with specific assessments and tests. Ranging from how well you’re sleeping, to how you’re feeling emotionally including feelings of depression or generally flat or low, to feeling wired, anxious, panicky or nervous.  From the results of assessments and/or testing, I will devise an effective stress management treatment plan support your body & mind and bring your stress hormones back into balance.  I’ll also teach you strategies & techniques to help you cope better day-to-day that will have a long-term affect on your attitude towards stress. Support is individualised depending on your requirements and aims to empower you with choice.
